MyPocketSkill is an AI-empowered award-winning platform, helping Gen Z's to become more financially capable and employable. We connect 13-25 year-olds with opportunities to earn money and provide AI assisted upskilling, learning and financial education. Our successes as a leader in digital innovation have been recognised as part of Lloyds Launch and Santander X 100, amongst many.
We are looking for a policy research/ impact analyst intern to work with us on projects for c.3 months on full time fixed contract basis, subject to 2 weeks probation period. This project may be particularly suitable for a graduate, who has experience, understanding or interest in policy, research but also extends in other areas.
- Impact, research & analysis: This would involve working on and synthesising theory of change, evaluating our work and reporting to stakeholders, which would include government entities and investors. This would in particular cover areas such as financial education and employability.
- Youth policy work: We often work with government entities across the UK and Europe in advising on, evaluating, benchmarking and supporting formation of youth policy. You would be expected to lead and contribute to that work. Examples of our past projects include working with DCMS (Department for Culture Media and Sports) on youth policy, Office for Students on access & participation, DfE on placements of T-levels. You would be also expected to work on contract bids as part of this stream.
- Community build and content: this is the most exciting part of the work that we do, we use the evidence based knowledge we have on what works to help young people to be more financially capable and translate it to activities on our platform that help young people to Earn, Save and Learn about money. This part of the role helps to develop content for our site, social media and also be part of our outreach team.
The ideal candidate would have:
- Solid research skills and an ability to conduct analyses of policy issues;
- Understanding of qualitative (and possibly quantitative) analysis techniques
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills and ability to interpret and present often complex evidence and research that is accessible to a wide range of audiences. A big part of this role is also to create and disseminate content.
The remuneration for this project is £5.5K. There is very likely to be an opportunity to extend the contract, potentially leading to full time role and improved remuneration/ bonus component.
